Need help with Hotel in Miami-Jewel 3/26

Just booked for the Jewel 3/26 sailing and I need a decent hotel for 1 night as we're arriving 1 day early on Saturday 3/25.

 

I'm checking rates and they're quite high and I really don't know the area that well.

 

Anyone have any suggestions on a good hotel at a decent price or where's the best place to book: Hotels.com, Hotwire, Priceline etc??:confused:

Holiday Inn Port of Miami

It's recently refurbished and right across the street from Bayside Marketplace, which is a really great place to eat, shop, see the ships and they usually have live music on the weekends.

It's only about a $10 cab ride to the pier, too. Prices are very reasonable compared to the others in the area.

 

When looking for hotels in the Miami area, you'll want to choose Downtown Miami for hotels closest to the pier. Miami Beach would probably be next closest.

Last month we stayed at the Radisson Hotel. I used priceline and paid $58.00 per night. I used the shuttle to Bayside for 2.00 per person. The hotel was ok. I loved the sleep number bed. I would have never paid full room rate....which I think was 179.00 per night....or lets say If I paid full room rate I would have been disappointed. The hotel did have a bar, pool, fitness and restaurant but I only used the fitness center.

Trent. I checked most of those hotels and the rates are jacked. Most are above 266 a night and closer to 400!

 

I'm guessing they're almost booked due to Spring Break. I just need a decent place to crash for a night.

 

I checked the Holiday Inn but they didn't show availability. That looks like the hotel with the most reasonable rates is they did have availability. I'm confused as to what to do now. I definitely don't want to pay over 150 for 1 night:confused:

Unfortunately you're coming at the height of Spring Break and many of the decent cheaper places have been booked for months.

 

You might want to try this one. I haven't been in it, but it's showing availability for less than $150 on that date. Alternatively some of the airport area hotels are usually cheaper than downtown. These are all decent places about 20 minutes from the Port of Miami.

Sometimes if you phone the hotel directly,rather than use the internet or 1-800 numbers,you can still get a room.

Have stayed there.It's more Best Western style(which it used to be) but clean and convenient to Bayside(which is great for the evening)and an easy cab ride to the pier.Due to traffic,I would arrange a flat rate for your trip...last year it was $10 for the cab.

No, they do not. Only the MIA airport hotels have airport shuttles. None of the downtown hotels have airport OR free port shuttles.
