At St. Thomas you will have to be cleared by customs before being allowed off the ship. Everyone goes through one of the dining rooms, where your passport is checked and your sea pass card is marked with a permanent marker. This procedure doesn't take much time, but is mandatory, and you will not be allowed to leave the ship unless you comply.

There will be public anouncements and details in you daily planner on procedures for that morning, and what time you must be back onboard. Enjoy your cruise.
