Dowser307 Posted April 13, 2004 #26 Share Posted April 13, 2004 1st off, the ship was the Elation and we chose a mini suite up on the Veranda Deck.It was supposed to be the quitest part of the ship. We recieved a call upgrading us to the Penthouse which was midship, I cant remember which deck, but alot closer to the waterline. Anyway the problem was our suite was so much bigger than the ones above us, our bed was litearly over the passageway above us. We constantly heard ppl stomping above us all hours of the night and day. The worst part was children running up and down the passageways for hours at a time usually in the evening. We did spend alot of time in the room, you can only walk around the ship so many times before it gets old. On a 7 day cruise we spent 5 at sea. As I had stated in my review, if you dont drink or gamble there is very little to do other than eat. This was our experience, YMMV

Cyt4SoreEyes Posted April 14, 2004 #28 Share Posted April 14, 2004 On our last cruise I think I had 4 or 5 cabins booked and everyone was offered upgrades..we had managed to get a 1A that was on deck 8 along with some balcony rooms as well on that deck and an inside as well across from one of the balcony's..well needless to say the ones in the inside and the one across from them declined the upgrades and were given stateroom credits and as for the 1A I moved them to the panorama deck with us! Which to me the panorama deck is my favorite and my kids too..easy access to the pool and breakfast..and the days events going out on deck! All in all if you feel your gonna be in better location with upgrade then jump at it!! Like metioned above getting better cabin type might mean giving up peace and quiet. Sweetcharlotte30 Posted April 14, 2004 #29 Share Posted April 14, 2004 On our last cruise they upgraded from an 8C to and 8I without asking us first, no biggie though. I was concerned about being right under the Lido deck as we were right under the pool, but I didn't hear a thing. Official member of O.A.T.C. Until we fool around on the Miracle!
