pardoni Posted January 11, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 11, 2006 staying in downtown Miami starting day before cruise. Anyone out there who can shed any light on the Metromover. There is a station one block from hotel, and a station at Bayside Marketplace where we want to go. Is the frequency sufficient on the weekend to get around without having to wait for long periods, or should we just use cabs. Thanks in advance. Rare finoky Posted January 11, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 11, 2006 We used it last year and found it very easy to do. Like you, we were one block away and took it to Bayside. They have a zone map there to tell you which train to take. The fact that it's free makes it even better.
Cruising89143 Posted January 11, 2006 #3 Share Posted January 11, 2006 The metromover is up and running. I would only use this during the day. The station that you would exit to go to Bayside is not right at Bayside. You do have to walk a few blocks and again I would not do it at night. Bequia Posted January 12, 2006 #5 Share Posted January 12, 2006 It's a handy way to get around, safe, clean and efficient. Many Miami urbanites use it extensively day and night. As anywhere you travel away from home, always be aware of your surroundings. I wouldn't hesitate to use it to get from my hotel to a restaurant or nightclub at night. ;) http://faculty.washington.edu/~jbs/itrans/miami.htm
