It's not so mysterious why dressy clothes are uncomfortable for some people. I'm on my feet for about 12h a day at work, and I have plantar fasciitis. The last thing I feel like doing on vacation is wearing high heels for hours on end. I'd be hobbling through the rest of the cruise.

Having said that, I'll still be in the dining room in my floor length gown and heels. I'll just be barefoot shortly thereafter!

On my last 7-day out of Galveston there were 2 formal nights and the rest were casual...not informal or smart casual...COUNTRY BUMPKIN casual.

I still went ahead and wore my nice dresses every night, it made me feel good and I looked nice for my hubby.

Same here :) For us, all of the nights were casual, except for the one formal night. We dressed semi-formally pretty much every night though. We pretty much made our own dress code :)
