Zimmy Posted January 13, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 13, 2006 We are thinking of booking our second cruise on Silversea. The sailing we are looking at qualifies for a Venetian club discount of 5%. I seem to recall reading here that the 5% is calculated on the undiscounted price of the cruise, but even though I have searched these threads, I can't find anything about that. Since the cruise we are looking at is already discounted 40%, whether the 5% comes off the gross or the net makes a major difference. Can someone in the know give me an answer as to how the discount is calculated? Thanks.
EZ99B5 Posted January 13, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 13, 2006 The savings is deducted from the published fare. So if the standard discount is 40% and the VS savings are 5%, you get 45% off the published fare (just not on port charges).
Zimmy Posted January 13, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted January 13, 2006 Thanks. That is what I thought, but I was doubting myself.
