First timers to Hawaii

We are stopping in Hawaii on our way home to Australia from Alaska Cruise. Have never been before and would like to know where to stay. It is confusing with all the different islands. We will be staying 4 nights.

 

Hope some of you can help.

all islands are so different. We have been there for 14 days and when talking about coming back to see only one of the islands, we couldn´t decide. Maybe Kauai, maybe Maui.

 

It depends, what you like and what you want to do.

 

So, it´s difficult to give you some advices, without knowing more.

 

Maybe you read some other threads of this site, about helicopters, tours and hotels and then ask again.

Not knowing what your arrival airport is in Hawaii, I'll assume it's Honolulu. Accomodation is plentiful there, and also on the other islands. Oahu offers the big city atmosphere as well as the Polynesian Cultural Centre, Pearl Harbor and lots of other things. The outer islands IMHO have more scenic things and feel more like Hawaii. If I had to pick one island to be on for the four days, it would be the Big Island, which would entail a couple of inter-island flights. That way you would get to experience Volcano National Park. Whatever you do it'll be enjoyable.
