Cabin organizing on Vista Class

With less closet space and no usable desk drawers on the Vista, Horizon and Panorama  I'm looking at how to best use the open shelves near the fridge on our Havana Interior rooms on the Panorama. Those open shelves near the fridge look so useless for anything other than paperwork or towels. Would shallow baskets slide into those open shelves? Girls need places for makeup, curling irons, hair accessories, sunglasses. Carnival please put the drawers back next to the desk/vanity area! Drawers inside the closet are not practical for these items.

We used packing cubes on the Horizon. They help keep things organized. Also a pop-up hamper saves drawer space so you don't need to use a drawer for laundry.
