Pacific Sky 25 FEB 2006 ASIA CRUISE Anyone?

Is anyone else joining u s on this cruise? We are doing the 7 night one, not the 14 but it is almost here! Hopefully our tickets will be here soon! If anyone else is on, let us know and maybe my husband & I can meet up with you sometime!

No I haven't got tickets yet. I don't think you get them until about a month before sailing.

So I guess that means you don't know what flights you are on yet either?

 

We are just starting to plan what we want to see and do, but without any info on what the shore tours are offering it is a bit of a pain. We are staying an extra 7 nights after, but we are tossing up whether to go a day early, but it kind of depends on what flight we get whether it is worth it or not.

I have no flights involved as I'm going on the Sun from Sydney and I am about an hours drive away.

We haven't gotten our info for our Feb 25 cruise! Hopefully soon... we have flights involved and don't know when... but requested to fly in the day before the cruise and leave the day after. I will let you know when I receive my stuff and tell about the shore tours! :D

Sarah and Liz, we're going in the middle of you both. Sarah, if I remember correctly you're going for 7 nights is that right. Look forward to hearing from you about the available shore tours when you get your tickets. Can't wait to read your review and any info you have on tours when you return. The countdown has really begun now. 4 weeks for you, 8 weeks for us and 11 weeks for Liz.

Yep, we are going for 7 nights. I will be leaving in exactly one month! We haven't booked our Singapore hotel, yet, but will probably book through asiarooms.com We have been looking and trying to decide. Does anyone know for sure where the ship docks?

:D Liz, we're staying 3 nights at Raffles Plaza, 1 night at Sentosa Rasa and 2 nights at Swissotel Merchant before the cruise. We decided that if we stayed in different hotels we'd see different parts of Singapore, eg: Chinatown, Singapore River, the mariner and Orchid Rd without a lot of back and forth. We haven't yet decided what to do on our return for 1 night. Was thinking of Bintan for the night (2 days) but will possibly wait until we get to Singapore to see what else is an option.:D :p Hubby thinks since we haven't been before and who knows when we'll get there again (especially since the Sky won't be sailing Asia after May:( )we might as well make the most of it.

Sarah, I've been informed on another site that the cruise ship docks at the Singapore Cruise Centre which I've been told is opposite Sentosa Is.

 

I booked our accomodation through asiarooms.com except Swissotel. Asiarooms gave me the best price from all the others I checked out and were better than the TA. Swissotel was the only one I couldn't get a room for but I could through the TA, so booked thru them for that one.

 

I have also read on another site that accomodation was difficult to get around 25th-27th Feb, so I would book asap:(

 

The other site I visit often is TripAdvisor.com and into the Singapore forum. Like this site I have learnt a lot from it and through their expertise have booked the hotels that I have. They have been very helpful with accomodation, site seeing etc.:)

Sarah, I get all my info re Singapore from: www.TripAdvisor.com then type in Singapore in the search box, hit the Singapore site and then it brings up Singapore page and then go to the Forums. I've found it great wealth of info.

 

On the forum you will notice that there is a mention regarding 25/2 and how difficult it is for accomodation.

Hey thanks for the link! I will check it out. Nope, still no tickets! And it is making me fairly crazy, cause I am a planner by nature! I think I finally got us a place booked for that Feb 24th, but several were booked!
