QM2, Queen Mary 2 Damage

Recommended Posts

I understand the QM2 hit something leaving Fort Lauderdale and damaged a pod/engine, came back to Fort Lauderdale for an inspection by Coastguard divers, and has sailed again as of 6:30am today using 3 of her 4 pods/engines.

Has anyone seen a report on what the divers found?

Does anyone know who's the captain on the QM2 for this sailing? Heads will roll, eh?

.

Commodore Warwick is in command of the QM2. I believe the insurance company will launch an investigation of who is responsible.

Too early to put full blame on the Harbor Master.

Even when the pilot is aboard the ship is still the responsibility of the Master.

David.

not so the pilot is in command as he is the master/expert of local waters and takes the liabiity as such!!!!!!!!!! THATS WHY THEY GET THE BIG $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
