sluggerterri Posted January 22, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 22, 2006 I'm booked on a Carnival cruise next month and I'm looking for information on the best snorkeling in St. Thomas or St. John. We're leaning toward going out on our own as opposed to booking an excursion through the boat. Any suggestions? Thanks!
CaribbeanBlue Posted January 22, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 22, 2006 St John has some wonderful snorkling, especially Trunk Bay. On St Thomas the best place to snorkel would be Coki Beach. They have snorkling equipment there to rent if you dont bring your own. You can take a safari taxi there from the ships dock. Same excursion as offered by the ships however you dont have to pay the squeeze to the ship. You can spend the extra money on some wonderful snacks and drinks at Coki! Sapphire Beach also has great snorkling and a nice beach. They have a nice dining area and beach bar also. On sundays they usually have live music on the beachfront. The Islander Posted January 26, 2006 #4 Share Posted January 26, 2006 Hello greenie, Coki Beach's snacks and drinks are offered by beach shack concession type places, some vans, some folks selling out of the back of their trucks - there is a variety but its pretty much along the lines of small concession type spots. Drinks include water, soda, alcoholic drinks... Food is beach type; chicken, some local dishes like pate and fish, hot dogs, fries... --Islander http://www.*****
