mwwoman Posted January 22, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 22, 2006 Hi everyone!:) Not only is this my first trip to Alaska, it is also my first cruise anywhere! We are leaving on RC on 9-9-06 from Seward. This trip started out as a dream vacation for me and a retirement trip for a friend. When word got out that we were going, the gates opened and now there are about 20 of us on this trip. I have gotten a lot of information from reading the boards but I always end up with more questions. One of the folks on the trip wants to do a dog sled/glaicer trip but from what I read, sometimes these trips are canceled because of no snow. Does this happen often? We have stops in Skagway, Juneau, Icy Strait Point and Ketchikan. Where is the best place to do the dog sled trip? and which vendor should she use? Thanks! _________________________________ Sharon
GlacierLady Posted January 22, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 22, 2006 Unfortunately they will probably be done for the year but is sure doesn't hurt to check in with them just to make sure.In Seward we have Godwin Glacier Tours, which usually ends middle of August and also Ididaride but that is a wheeled on gravel track ride without the awesome helicopter flight.
