Curly locks Posted May 1, 2019 #1 Share Posted May 1, 2019 Hi everyone! We haven't been on Cunard for a few years, so can anyone confirm if Cunard still do special sail-away activities and if they sell the piccolos (small bottles) of Champagne? If so, does anyone know the cost of these bottles? Also, we are doing the 39 night Grand Voyage from Vancouver to Southampton and people will be boarding at San Francisco, Los Angeles, Fort Lauderdale and New York. Will there be an official sail-away at each of these ports? Thanks for any information you can share.

Unfortunately, no. Or better, only very occasionally, not even alway for the first sail away at the port of embarkation. If at all, this would be the only time they sell the piccolos. Cunard used to do great sail-aways in each port with Champagne flowing in each and every port, but no more. They do often hard sell some special drink / cocktail of the day. If the sail-away is not in the afternoon, they do nothing.

BigMac1953 Posted May 1, 2019 #4 Share Posted May 1, 2019 On every one of my 20+ Cunard trips, there has been sailaway parties around the stern pool complete with the mini champagnes. Normally it's the reggae band playing.

The only exceptions being if the sailaway is at an odd time like midnight or early morning. They are just not always very well attended. If it is wet the band plays inside. Curly locks Posted May 2, 2019 Author #6 Share Posted May 2, 2019 Great news - thank you everyone; I really enjoyed the sail-away from New York in 2015! Does anyone know the price of the mini champagne bottles?
