Tipping Advice

I've never hired a driver for a tour before and we're going to in Juneau. I appreciate the positive comments I've seen about Shane with Dlux rides.  How much do you typically tip when you hire a driver for a couple hours?  If the tour is $70 per hour - and we're thinking 3 hours will be what we need to get to Mendenhall, walk around and back.  $100??? (4 adults 3 kids)  I was thinking $100 - is that too little? Too much? - or even $90 seem right? Makes it an even $300 for 3 hours = 40% tip?

Honestly I probably would tip $5 if I was on a bus tour for that amount of time. $10 for my son and I. But that's a bus load.... I don't mean to be dumb - maybe answer is staring me in the face.

Honestly that is very generous of you - but $100 would seem way too much. Most guides for taxi or limo service suggest 15 to 20 percent as a reasonable guideline so $40 to $50 max would probably be more than he gets from most, especially if the tour really just amounts to taking you to Mendenhall Glacier and waiting while you tour and bringing you back to town.
