For the budget minded in Galveston

We stayed at Howard Johnson's this month before our cruise. We are a family of six and needed 2 rooms for the night before our cruise. I decided to take my chances and book Howard Johnson's for the night. I booked on www.hojo.com and got a price of $49.00 for each room.

When we checked in the price was reduced to $45 because we are AAA members.

We were completely surprised at how new and clean the rooms were. It even included continental breakfast and cruise parking. You do have to catch a taxi to the port.

We even got a coupon for a free appetizer at Fisherman's Wharf. Great place to eat right by the cruise terminal. We sat outside with a great view of a cruise ship in the fog. Looked kinda like a ghost ship.
