We used these people and could not have been happier. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g293916-d3484773-Reviews-LJ_Biz_Soft_Adventure_Cultural_Day_Tours-Bangkok.html
alithecat Posted July 9, 2019 #3 Share Posted July 9, 2019 In case you didn't know, Laem Chabang is at least 2 hours away from Bangkok and traffic is usually horrendous. Take the private tour on the day you overnight in Laem Chabang, not on the day you leave. When we were there (on a different cruise line), we paid for the cruise line's bus ride back & forth to Bangkok and then paid a private tour operator within the city. We were glad we did. It took over 3 hours to get back to the ship, which left at 6pm that day.
toseaornottosea Posted July 10, 2019 #4 Share Posted July 10, 2019 We were fortunate in that our cruise ended in Bangkok and didn't have that problem.
Belif Posted July 16, 2019 #5 Share Posted July 16, 2019 It might take over 2 hrs by bus, but not by car. And depends which day of the week and which parts of the city you plan to go. One full day in Bangkok should be enough. You will feel exhausted from pollution, traffic, and crowds. So many places you can see and do around Laem Chabang like Chonburi downtown (better food than Bangkok and friendlier people), Lady boy show or Nong Nooch Tropical Garden in Pattaya, and many small islands with 10-15 mins boat ride. You can PM me with questions.
palm beach Posted July 16, 2019 Author #6 Share Posted July 16, 2019 I just looked up Chonburi, never heard of it before. It sounds interesting. How did you get there?

We just came back from 4-week Japan/Thailand trip last month. Tokyo is like NYC on steroids and Bangkok is like NYC on Xanax 🙂 Chonburi town is busy, but not as bad as Bangkok. Seafood is also amazing and fresh there, but I would recommend you to bring some prescribed antibiotics with you on the trip if you tend to have a sensitive stomach. Lady boy show was really fun, but you might need to book in advance since it's a popular Tourist destination. There is NO Uber in Thailand. We used Taxi Grab available on the phone application. However, it seems like you have little time there, so a private tour would work best. Everywhere you go in Thailand you will need a car/driver. I would think Silversea offers a private tour as an excursion. We had private tours in Thailand several times in the past and it would come with a driver and you pay extra for gas, toll fee (if any) and a tour guide. They will take you where ever your heart desires.
