Champagne and strawberries?

Recommended Posts

I got back from a cruise on Harmony a couple of weeks ago. Everyone in my family group was given champagne and strawberries in their cabins. We never really figured out why and never bothered to ask, but I'm still kind of curious, if anyone might know?

The person who booked the cruise had probably done a couple of cruises with Royal before this--none of us have any significant status (not that I can see champagne listed as an offer for any status level, anyway). We booked 3 cabins (2 balconies and 1 solo), so this wasn't a huge group.

Was this just some sort of random nice gesture on the part of Royal? Or maybe because we booked a year in advance or something? I'm just curious.
