Sea-soned traveler Posted April 18, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 18, 2004 A group of us have booked balcony guarantee cabins on the Destiny in November. Does anyone know if regular balcony cabins have refrigerators or is it only the suites that have them. Also, since I have never cruised in November, how likely is it that the ship will be full. We are sailing the week prior to Thanksgiving.
weswas Posted April 18, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 18, 2004 I can only tell you about an 8A balcony room WE sailed the Destiny last year in May had a balcony and no fridge!!! Not sure if the ship will be full in Nov but was in May. We have in the past called the TA about a fidge due to my mom being on tons of meds some need to be kept in the fridge. We have never had a problem with being accomadated UNTIL WE SAIL AGAIN....... Sea-soned traveler Posted April 18, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted April 18, 2004 weswas, I thought this was the case. Since we booked a guarentee, the most likely cabin would be an 8A unless of course we have a jolly good upgrade fairy! What do you mean accomadate you with a fridge? Did they bring one in for you? sel8918 Posted April 18, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 18, 2004 The Destiny does not have fridges in their balcony rooms. My brother has a food allergy so we have to always travel with food which has to be refrigerated so when we go on the Destiny in July, we will just take the things out of the minibar and put his food in. weswas Posted April 18, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 18, 2004 When we cruised last May my mom told them(the TA and she passed it on to Carnival) about her meds and when she got to her room there was a small fridge in the room that took up most of her counter space. it held her meds and about a 6 pack of cola but when they sail on the Royal (they do that cruise line alot) they always just assign her a room and it has a fridge. UNTIL WE SAIL AGAIN....... Sea-soned traveler Posted April 18, 2004 Author #6 Share Posted April 18, 2004 sel8918, I'm confused. So what you are saying is that technically the mini bar is a fridge? Is it big enough for a bottle of wine or a six pack of soda? Just how many jello shots could I fit in that thing anyway?
