Holiday Inn Air&Sea Ft. Lauderdale

After reading negative reviews about this hotel I am starting to worry about staying there. We are going in March with my family and they booked us here for the night before the cruise. We dont get in FLL till 7:30pm and aren't planning on doing anything but going to the room to sleep. Is the area that bad or will it be okay for the night? We have two small children and are concerned about saftey. Thanks

Like any town or city there's always a "bad section". The SR84 corridor is considered as such. The HIX Air/Seaport is located on SR84. It's location is on the eastern end of the stretch which is certainly a lot better then the western end. The worst of the worst is the western end. With that being said, you will be fine for the night. You will be safe inside of the hotel. If you decide to go out for dinner, take a taxi. ;)

If you're just going to the hotel to sleep and not going to be going out to dinner or anything you'll be fine... If you'll want to go out to dinner, grocery, drug, or liquor stores, etc. or do anything outside of the hotel then I'd recommend you stay elsewhere - such as one of the SE 17th Street hotels.
