imatarb Posted April 19, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 19, 2004 Does anyone have any experience renting a tuxedo from Carnival on board the ship? My DH is interested in doing this, and since the prices of rental are so inflated, due to the time of year (prom season), he felt that the best deal to be had was on board ($75 for the week). He's looked into buying one, but prices are a bit higher than he'd like to pay. Any insight or feedback? L2J Posted April 19, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 19, 2004 I was thinking about doing this as well but found a very nice and inexpensive tux at www.cheaptux.com. I kind of have some issues with wearing something that someone else has. Liv...Winds are 15 knots and holding....the whole world is a drop zone! tef43 Posted April 19, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 19, 2004 imatarb, I see that you are somewhat local, so this may work for you. Have hubby jump in the car and motor down to Tuxedo World at Great Lakes Crossing. GREAT prices on retail tuxedos. Shirts, ties, cummerbunds, jewelry can be had online at uniformalwearhouse.com Again, GREAT prices. tef43 Posted April 19, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 19, 2004 I am surprised to hear that. It was just about a year ago that I purchased mine, at about 60% off. Tom <--- Curmudgeon of the Seas

L2J Posted April 19, 2004 #11 Share Posted April 19, 2004 Thank you. Had me worried there!! I saw one that said "machine washable" and about fell out of my chair laughing. Reminded me of the Home Improvement episode where Tim had his "suit in a bag" LOL. Liv...Winds are 15 knots and holding....the whole world is a drop zone! countercast Posted April 19, 2004 #13 Share Posted April 19, 2004 Wow - the Tuxxman sure has some super deals! Wish I had known before booking my son's grad outfit. Still, I shall definitely be seeing what else I can pick-up for the cruise. Thanks! Working hard to cruise hard! oceantravel Posted April 20, 2004 #14 Share Posted April 20, 2004 We have always rented from the ship and my guys love it. They rent so that they do not have to drag a bunch of formal wear along. They got shoes, complete tux and two shirts for $85. Great deal if you don't want to haul everything with you. serene56 Posted April 20, 2004 #17 Share Posted April 20, 2004 my honey got his tux from e-bay- I think he paid 75 bucks for it. Came with 2 shirts, lots of cumberbunds and ties. He used it twice so far and we are booked for 2 more cruises so he got his monies worth so far. He rents his shoes on the cruise lines for 10 bucks though. Orders them online and they are waiting in the cabin when we arrive.
