Our Camera was returned!!!!

On our 2/29 Inspiration Cruise, our daughter left her digital camera lying on the promenade deck and after walking away for about 10 minutes realized that she had left it. She went back to get the camera and found it was gone. This was on our last day of the cruise, and we kept checking back with lost and found and the pursers desk and was told over and over that it was not turned it. We just knew that the camera was never to be seen again (with her pictures of the ship and ports). Extremely upset, we filed a lost and found report with Carnival on our return home and low and behold today, in the mail, our daughters camera arrived with everything (batteries, extra flashcard, etc.) in place. I am extremely impressed with Carnival and how they got the camera back to us. Yes, it was sometime ago that the camera was reported missing, but goodness, we could have just written that one off as long gone. Way to Go Carnival Lost and Found! Thank you.

Let's not forget the "honest" person that found it as well. A quality that is lacking these days.

RhondaMo,

This happens more than you think - most people just don't post about the happy endings to a problem they encountered while cruising. It is easier to complain, than explain, about the circumstances.

May we make a suggestion... send a note of thanks to Carnival to forward to the person (if known) who found & turned in your camera. Even the Carnival employees would appreciate hearing how you appreciated their efforts in reuniting you & your property!

A thank you is the least reward you can give someone for doing something nice for you!

I agree with Salty Dawg!!
I believe with all my heart that the majority of people are honest...it's just that you never hear all the good stuff, only the bad.
A note to Carnival would be nice...maybe they can forward it to the folks who returned the camera.
Thanks to you for posting your good news. It's always welcome!!!!

Thanks for the suggestion on the thank you note. I plan on getting that out tomorrow first thing. I do so appreciate whoever found our camera and returned it to the lost and found. A GREAT BIG THANK YOU!

Although it wasn't actually on the ship, I had a similar experience at a bar beachside on Orient Beach in St Martin last month. Four of us decided to stop and have a beer. It was my turn to pay, so I handed over what I thought was a $5 and 2 $1's. The bartender said that I had given him a $5 instead of one of the singles, then corrected himself when he realized I had actually given him 3 $5's. He gave me back the extras and I replaced them with the correct bills. Needless to say, he got most of it back in tips. A post like this is like a ray of sunshine instead of complaints. I do agree that most people are good at heart. The return is just awesome.

I had read your earlier post and felt your daughter's loss. Now I'm happy to learn that all is well. I agree with posters above, most people are caring and honest. We really ONLY hear about the bad in the media and other sources. It's always uplifting to hear this kind of news. Thank you for posting and updating us. Cathy
