Anyone taken a ship excursion on Margarita Island?

Just curious if anyone has taken a ship excursion on Margarita Island, Venezuela? If so, which one and how was it? Thanks!

We took a ship excursion on Margarita Island and went to a resort and it including lunch. The resort was about an hour's drive (if I remember correctly)

I found it to be a very relaxing day by the pool and the resort was very clean and nice.

 

Personally, I would never venture out on my own on that island! Scary place when we were there.

i did the La Restinga tour, very interesting and well worth the money except for the old buses used, (lousy a/c).

i have to respectfully and wholeheartedly DISagree with the previous poster, i felt perfectly safe-dont let some anti American grafitti scare you, its a demonstration of freedom of speech!;)

I assume we are talking about the same island "Isla de Margarita" of Venezuela.

When we were there, there were a lot of road blocks with heavy armed police and military. When we questioned the bus driver about this, he told us about all the problems they were having on the island.

 

This was a couple of years ago, so maybe things have changed.
