Public Beach near Atlantis?

Hi there all-

Visiting Nassau from 8-2 in March. We are thinking of going over to the Atlantis to see what we can for free then heading to a close beach. Is there a public beach within walking distance from the Atlantis since that is where we would visit first?

Any help is appreciated!

We took the water taxi over to Paradise Island and walked onto the beach in front of Atlantis - where I understand that the beach is open to all. We used their beach bar for some drinks and food (expensive if I recall correctly). It was a very nice beach. All we did was walk to the far (east?) side of the resort and onto the beach there. There were lots of vendors of course, even though right in front of Atlantis, but a firm no and they went on their way.
