Kfrech Posted November 3, 2019 #1 Share Posted November 3, 2019 Many thanks to all who've replied to my various posts. First time in Seattle, no car, sailing round trip out of Vancouver. We'll have 2 days in Seattle, after which we'll take Amtrak to Vancouver in the early a.m. I'm looking for hotels, or even the best area to stay in so that we can accomplish as much as possible in a short period of time. I'd like to spend no more than $300 per night. I've looked at a few hotels in the Pioneer Square area, but I'm not sure that's the best location. I'd like to be close to King Street Station for easy access to Amtrak, as well as close to a light rail station for easy access from the airport. Of course, I'd also like to be within easy walking or public transit distance to some of the city's highlights.
Rare Gardyloo Posted November 3, 2019 #2 Share Posted November 3, 2019 I'd pick the Embassy Suites, directly across the street from King Street Station (and through the station to the International District light rail station.) https://goo.gl/maps/Gx5bu31SHPeLBrxb9
Rare martincath Posted November 3, 2019 #3 Share Posted November 3, 2019 Certainly no disagreement with either of the above suggestions, but when we've got an early Amtrak we still stay out in Seattle Center area - the cab ride to the station is early enough rush hour isn't an issue, and the extra few bucks for the distance is more than offset by the cost savings on the room. Depending on exactly what you want to see, Seattle Center may put you closer to the sights as well - we've also always been happy to walk down to Pioneer Square or the Waterfront from e.g. the Mediterranean Inn, it's barely two miles.
