Need Penn Station (NYC) info----

Hi - we're coming into Penn station the day before we cruise --are we going to have to drag our luggage up stairs to the street level - or are there escalaotrs??? thank you

I travelled into NYC recently, with the final leg being an Amtrak ride into Penn Station. I remember escalators that reversed themselves. I esepecially remember this because on the way out, someone told me to go to "Gate 8"(?) to go down to our train, and the escalator at 8 was coming up. After walking around the terminals several times, I finally asked for help, and was told the escolators reverse direction depending on whether they are loading or unloading the platform.

Depending on what track you arrive on some of the platforms have elevators to the concorse levels. To get to street level you will need to use the escalators. Don't worry there are plenty of them.

I just got back fron NY via Amtrak. There are plenty of escalators and Elevators to get you to the street level. You will also find a cab line dedicated to travelors from Penn Station. Let me know if you need any more info. Its all still fresh in my head!
