sfvoyager Posted February 2, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 2, 2006 All of the pictures show one King Bed, but can P1 Junior Suites on QM2 be converted into two double beds?
wynkys Posted February 2, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 2, 2006 With two single beds, one of them is right up against the curtain covering the balcony windows, so I don't know where two double beds would fit.
sfvoyager Posted February 2, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted February 2, 2006 Wow! That does not sound very attractive. You mean they can't simply seperate the two beds without blocking the window?
iceman666 Posted February 2, 2006 #4 Share Posted February 2, 2006 I've just looked at the pictures I took of our P1 to remind me. The bed is a King Size (6ft at least) and very comfortable. There is a bedside table on either side of the bed and that pretty well fills the wall across the bed head. Yes, I suppose one could ask for two singles and one table could go between the beds, but one bed would definitiely be close to the window unless the singles are narrower ! It wouldn't stop the patio door opening to the balcony or prevent the curtains closing. One solution could be to move the sofa bed and put a single where it stands as there is ample room with the table moved. Then the sofa could go against the window ??? castlewood Posted February 2, 2006 #5 Share Posted February 2, 2006 Also, the two beds can be made up separately, even if they are together.
sfvoyager Posted February 3, 2006 Author #6 Share Posted February 3, 2006 ahhhhhh...so it really is two beds pushed together into a king?
wynkys Posted February 3, 2006 #7 Share Posted February 3, 2006 On the inaugural Transatlantic, I was lying on the bed right against the window suffering from food poisoning (dodgy mussels) the afternoon the very large rogue wave hit the Starboard side and the noise was so loud and sudden when the water whacked against the window that I initially thought that I had been shot. Another disadvantage of the bed arrangement, is that you felt the cold from outside being so close to the window.
castlewood Posted February 4, 2006 #8 Share Posted February 4, 2006 Yes, the P1 king is actually two beds pushed together and, if I remember correctly, even when connected, there's a bit of an abyss between the mattresses. Nice firm mattresses, though.
