Corleone Posted February 3, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 3, 2006 I want to take my girlfriend on a cruise over spring break. I found a reasonably priced cruise on Majesty of The Sea for 3 nights to the bahamas... any information that you could lend about this ship, or the cruise in general would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance, C.
superjerryw Posted February 3, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 3, 2006 A 3 day cruise during spring break will be full of people enjoying spring break. How romantic do you think that will be......

kyriecat Posted February 3, 2006 #4 Share Posted February 3, 2006 I did the 3-night Majesty last year mid-January. Sorry, but it wasn't really romantic. Maybe if you get a balcony cabin (we didn't) and spend some time together on the balcony away from the other people on the ship. Because it is a short cruise mostly over the weekend, it attracts a party crowd and tons of children. That was my first short cruise and it was nothing like the 7-night or longer cruises. There were tons of drunk adults, particularly the young (college-age) crowd, acting like complere boors. I have never seen so many poorly-behaved kids knocking on doors, blocking stairways, pushing people out of the way to get into the elevators, and running down the hall screaming at 3 AM. Service was also sub-par. Our steward kept forgetting to bring us new towels or ice. The waitress was okay but we sometimes had to ask 2 or 3 times for a water refill. The ship is one of the oldest in the fleet so the cabins are a bit smaller than the standard today. That wasn't really an issue since we were only there for a few days. The good thing is it's a cruise.

Corleone Posted February 3, 2006 Author #6 Share Posted February 3, 2006 Thank you all for the replies... Obviously we could make a trip to McDonalds romantic... i really just wanted to get a feel for a short cruise.... i have been on 5 and 7 nights but never one this brief... Getting off teh boat in the bahamas will be romantic im sure... and we are also "young adults" so we tend to enjoy the rowdy drunk crowd in between long walks on the beach, and sex in the hot tub (just kidding... or am I?) anyway thanks, and if you have anythign to add about a 3 night cruise in general or this specific cruis/boat i would love to hear them... Anyone know if they have 3 card poker in the casino? C.
shirleygr Posted February 3, 2006 #7 Share Posted February 3, 2006 DH and I did the 3 night cruise last January and had a wonderful romantic trip. We took a horse and buggy ride in Nassau and lounged on the beach on cococay. As has been said, a cruise is what you make of it. Go for it and enjoy. lorasmom Posted February 3, 2006 #8 Share Posted February 3, 2006 DH and I took a 3 day to Nassau on Fascination, and I thought it was perfect! So perfect, we're trying on Majesty next month.... 3 days is perfect for me, because we have 2 little girls, and I hate being away for any time at all, but need a breather... 3 days brings me back refreshed and happy to see them! There are few things more romantic than planning a surprise for someone or being by the ocean...so if you can do both you will be doing excellent!
