Mr. Scott Posted June 17, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 17, 2004 I recently posted a thread asking about comparisons between the Zenith and Horizon and why the Horizon was so much more inexpensive to Bermuda. The general consensus was that the two ships are very similar & to opt for the cheaper of the two. After further investigation I noticed that the Zenith’s itinerary out of New York gets into Bermuda at 8:00 am the morning after departure. The Horizon out of Philly however arrives at 3:30 pm the day after departure. The cruise on the Zenith also allows a couple of extra hours in Bermuda on the return trip as well. The cruise on the Zenith allows you almost a full day more in port at Bermuda that I’m sure contributes to the higher cost. I still feel that the Horizon is the better value but just wanted to share this information with those planning cruise to Bermuda. sueinphilly Posted June 17, 2004 #3 Share Posted June 17, 2004 Hi there Mr. Scott. I think you may be wrong about that. on the date I am going 7/24 on Horizon. http://www.vacationstogo.com/fastdeal.cfm?deal=3948 and http://www.vacationstogo.com/fastdeal.cfm?deal=7022 the Zenith gets in at 9Am on monday, same as Horizon. The Zenith does leave on Thursday at 3pm VS 1pm for the Horizon. But the Horizon leaves Philly at 3Pm and the Zenith doesn't leave NY until 4:30pm. I call it EVEN time in Bermuda for Less MONEY. Mr. Scott Posted June 17, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted June 17, 2004 Thanks for the reply & I happily stand corrected. The itinerary posted on Travelocity shows it differently (bad info I hope). I just looked it up on Celebrity’s site & verified you were indeed correct. Thanks again Sueinphilly http://leisure.travelocity.com/Vacations/Cruise/Itinerary/0,2415,TRAVELOCITY_291_3,00.html Grand Princess 1/03 Brilliance of the Seas 11/03 Horizon 7/
srpilo Posted June 18, 2004 #5 Share Posted June 18, 2004 I've sailed both in the last year, and for some reason I like the Horizon better..umm? Both have fantasic service, but I though the food was a little better on Horzon (food is very subjective) and for warm weather cruises the "Bubble" pool on Horizon is great !! I also felt that while almost identical, Horizon seems to have more ... Charm? I don't know exactly, but it has a "Warm feel" about it and I had a little different experience then I had on Zenith. Sorry if this only make more confused ..LOL Either way you'll in for a GREAT CRUISE !! Katie H Posted June 19, 2004 #6 Share Posted June 19, 2004 Srpilo - We have sailed the Zenith and loved it. We are now booked on Horizon in September. I must ask - what is the "Bubble" pool? katieh77@earthlink.net
