nsw104 Posted January 11, 2020 #1 Share Posted January 11, 2020 1/20/20 Diamond Princess is boarding at Daikoku pier, Port of Yokohama is running shuttle from Yamashita pier to Daikoku pier according to Princess notification. Anyone know where the p/u stop on Yamashita pier is? Thanks in advance!
BruceMuzz Posted January 12, 2020 #2 Share Posted January 12, 2020 Daikoku and Yamashita Piers are both commercial cargo piers that handle a few cruise ships when Osanbashi Cruise Terminal is full. Yamashita pier runs parallel to Osanbashi pier, just a few hundred meters away. As a commercial pier, the public is not allowed to walk on it. You must catch a shuttle bus at the entrance gate on the main road that runs along the waterfront. Sometimes they allow taxis to take you to the Yamashita Terminal. Maybe they plan to collect you at the entrance gate? Maybe you must take the shuttle bus to the Yamashita pier Terminal to check in? Only Princess knows where they plan to pick you up at that location. You really need to talk to them.
Blackiethesheep Posted January 13, 2020 #3 Share Posted January 13, 2020 Searching for the same information myself (on the Diamond in March). Found this on the web which may be of some help. We were originally coming by train to Nihon-Odori station, and this would mean only one more stop and a similar walk. https://www.city.yokohama.lg.jp/lang/overseas/port/cruise/190423cschE.files/0013_20191224.pdf No mention of the pick-up times, but there are contact details on this page https://www.city.yokohama.lg.jp/lang/overseas/port/cruise/cruise-en.html Would be interested in how you get on ... Kenswing Posted January 24, 2020 #5 Share Posted January 24, 2020 I sent the Port of Yokohama an email asking what time the shuttle from Yamashita Pier to the Daikoku Terminal started and they sent me the attached flyer. They also mentioned that you probably don't want to get to the cruise terminal before 11:00 because there is nothing to do since it is a commercial port. 0117_Diamond.princess0120_A4_2.pdf
