Sarahsmom85 Posted February 7, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 7, 2006 How about Perto Rico? I am looking at a Southern Cruise for next yr. Do they have pickup at the airport to cruise line for wheelchairs?
Queenie2 Posted February 7, 2006 #4 Share Posted February 7, 2006 You can buy an accessible transfer from the cruise line. That is your best bet. there are accessible vehicles there, but they are limited and on departure days the cruise lines have them all tied up. There are not as many as in Miami (they are all private shuttle vans -- not accessible taxis) Candy
DEL67 Posted February 7, 2006 #5 Share Posted February 7, 2006 In San Juan, we booked transfers through Celebrity and they provided us with a van with a wheelchair lift. However, be sure to get it in writing or in an email. Often what the front office promises does not reach the shore staff. When we reached San Juan, the staff knew nothing about it. Luckily, I was able to pull out the email so they called the accessible van for us.
Sarahsmom85 Posted February 8, 2006 #6 Share Posted February 8, 2006 Can these be used if you want to get there a day ahead of time? I just do not like to fly in on the day of the cruise. Are there vans that would take us to a hotel?
Cruising Santa Posted February 12, 2006 #7 Share Posted February 12, 2006 You might try South East Shuttle they have lift. I will be using them on Feb 20th. They were very profesional on the phone and seamed to care about the person in the chair (me) not just taking stuf to the port. Hope this helps.
