cruizinpooh Posted April 25, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 25, 2004 St. Thomas and St. Maarten are usually known for their good deals on Jewelry and Liquor. However, does anyone know if you can find either Coach, Dooney's or Louis Vuitton's in the islands? If so, where and how do the prices compare to the states? Thank you! kimjoe Posted April 26, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 26, 2004 This question was made for me too! I know (from personal experience) that DB was always easy to find on Mexico cruises. My goal is the Coach purses with the CC's all over the pattern if possible. Has anybody seen this style?? We go 11/6/04 and would love an early X-mas present!! hstrybuf Posted April 26, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 26, 2004 The only place I've seen a Coach store in the eastern Caribbean is in San Juan, Puerto Rico. They may carry them elsewhere, but not that I've seen. cruizinpooh Posted April 26, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted April 26, 2004 Thanks! I'm hoping to get some more answers. I sail in May, I've sailed to E. Caribbean many times but never really paid any mind to purses. Until now! I'm really interested in one. I'm gonna do some homework on San Juan. Thanks! Keep 'em coming. Reva_Dearchi Posted April 26, 2004 #6 Share Posted April 26, 2004 Hey Kimjoe! I'm a Coach bag person as well. I did check out the Coach store in san juan last summer and ended up getting one from...get this...TJ Maxx in San juan I get all my bags at the Coach Factory Outlet stores in Niagara falls,NY or Grove City, PA. The pricing and merchandise at the outlet stores are basically the same except I don't believe there was a sales tax in San Juan. Isn't there an outlet store near you? How about at Sawgrass?

Celebrate The Good Times!

<Align Left> Celebration 12/93 (Eastern Caribbean)
Imagination 10/98 (Western Caribbean)
Holiday 8/2000 (Baja)
Grandeur of the Seas 8/2001 (Mediterranean)
Sensation 8/2002 (Western Caribbean)
Destiny 8/2003 (Southern Caribbean)
Glory 8/2004 (Western Caribbean)

imatarb Posted April 26, 2004 #8 Share Posted April 26, 2004 I was hoping that Louis Vuitton had an authorized outlet/store in the Western Caribbean, but no luck. Oh well! cruizinpooh Posted April 26, 2004 Author #10 Share Posted April 26, 2004 Reva_Dearchi- There are none close by. I usually shop at the Outlet in Orlando, FL whenever I go on business. However, I was hoping to see a store in the Caribbeanb that sold nice purses.
Reva_Dearchi Posted April 27, 2004 #11 Share Posted April 27, 2004 Incharge, I'm sorry, it was a Marshalls, not TJ Maxx!It was right downtown, not too far from the Coach Store in San Juan and yes it was a fluke, they only had the one bag. A sales associate at a Coach Store in Niagara Falls once told me that once the bags leave the outlets, they sale them off to stores like TJ Maxx and Marshalls so you can find them there once in a while if you're lucky. But to tell you the truth, the price was actually a little more than what I pay at the outlet store with the coupon that sometimes comes in the mail. Cruzinpooh, That must be a drag not having an outlet close by. I actually want to go to this outlet near New York City called Woodbury Commons but it's like a 5.5hr. drive from me. It lists so many outlet stores that it's unbelieveable. You name it, it's there! The only problem is that the outlet stores are often 'hit or miss' so it would have to be more like a trip to NYC with that as a stop along the way. I wouldn't want to go all that way and it not be a worthwhile trip. I now plan on waiting until next March to try to catch all the winter clothing and boots As for designer shops in the Western Caribbean, I don't recall seeing them at all on our last Western Itinerary. In fact, I've never seen them in any part of Mexico. Please let me know if you know of any.

Celebrate The Good Times!

<Align Left> Celebration 12/93 (Eastern Caribbean)
Imagination 10/98 (Western Caribbean)
Holiday 8/2000 (Baja)
Grandeur of the Seas 8/2001 (Mediterranean)
Sensation 8/2002 (Western Caribbean)
Destiny 8/2003 (Southern Caribbean)
Glory 8/2004 (Western Caribbean)

mpffls Posted April 27, 2004 #13 Share Posted April 27, 2004 we were in PR last oct and there is a dooney and a coach store.....go to the ports of call board and under PR they are always talking about them and can tell you where they are... When we were there we got some awesome deals... my daughter is in collage and the girls like those wrist ones....that are big enough for a chaock book and cell phone (about 8 inches long and 4 inches wide)...I got her 3 of those...all leather and 3 purses...that were bigger and wnet over her shoulder....a little bigger than the LV ones that all the young girls carry...again all leather....some gloves, a scarf and hat...and it was under $300....plus they put everything in a separate coach box and tied it w/ a ribbon.... They had no signiture stuff....everything was leather......tons of it and unbelevable prices hope this helps.... we did not go in the dooney store but Ralph lauren is across the street.... these are all in old SJ trish [IMG] http://escati.linkopp.net/cgi-bin/countdown.cgi?trgb=000000&srgb=00ff00&prgb=ff0000&cdt2004;8;22;16;00;00&timezone=GMT-0600 [/IMG] till our ELATION and Margaret's
Littlegoo75 Posted April 27, 2004 #14 Share Posted April 27, 2004 I was able to get a Dooney and Bourke at Marshalls, they had just received a shipment and it looked as though the employees were ready to snatch them all up when I caught a glimpse and made them give me one. It was a medium sized messenger canvas bag with the DB's all over it, still had all original tags, warrantee, etc. It was $69. ( orig. price - $200) I was also able to score a huge leather sac Coach bag from Off Sak's for $130. ( orig. $300) If you look hard enough for the deals, you will find them. Marshall's also will get Coach shoes from time to time. I have never seen Ross have any, but they do get Dolce and Gabbana, Gucci, and Prada sunglasses. ralmyers Posted April 27, 2004 #15 Share Posted April 27, 2004 Oooh thanks! I have also been looking for that same coach purse for a lesser price than the dept. stores. I am sort of burn out on my Dooney's, so I will HAVE to check out that coach store while I am in San Juan. The DH will just love that trip :-) Triumph Fantasy - 94 Imagination - 95 Ecstasy - 99 Triumph -

kristy Posted April 28, 2004 #17 Share Posted April 28, 2004 Yes, like others have said, Coach and Dooney and Burke both have stores in San Juan. There really wasn't much of a discount from what you'd pay at a Coach outlet. My best Coach bargain yet has been on eBay. I got a beautiful tomato red(they don't use this color anymore)vintage purse that didn't have a scratch or any marks on it for $35!! It is beautiful! momofmeg Posted April 28, 2004 #18 Share Posted April 28, 2004 If your cruise goes to San Juan in "Old San Juan" which is where most of the ships dock close to there is a Coach store within walking distance of the ship. The purses run like $75 to around $200 which I have been told is a considerable savings. gemz Posted August 5, 2004 #19 Share Posted August 5, 2004 Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead, but does anyone know if they sell the Coach signature line in the outlets (like in Buffalo)? I'm looking for a Coach Signature Demi.
suzybruner Posted August 6, 2004 #20 Share Posted August 6, 2004 I saw Coach signature bags in July in the Coach outlet in Las Vegas. They were in the "regular priced" outlet stuff, though, none was in the clearance stuff. There were maybe some signature wallets in the clearance items. You really want to get on their mailing list so they send you a 15% off your entire purchase coupon. I think you have to spend about $125 to get the 15% off. If you go crazy and spend a lot more, the discount % goes up. Suzy
gemz Posted August 6, 2004 #21 Share Posted August 6, 2004 ^ Thanks. That sucks that they have them but in the regular price section. I found a way to get 10% off the purse I want at a dept store :)
