pgmrdev Posted April 26, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 26, 2004 As someone who who has spent a land based vacation in St. Maarten during a category 5 hurricane, a cruise, anytime, is a better alternative. Since ships can easily avoid bad weather, don't worry. Travel when you can, and enjoy! You should be ok in August. I would worry more in September/October.

Grand Princess 2-2001 Grand Princess 12-2001 Carnival Paradise 3-2002 Carnival Destiny 10-2002 Golden Princess 10-2003 Carnival Legend 6-8-2004

Cruising89143 Posted April 27, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 27, 2004 The best thing to do is book and not worry. If there is a storm you may miss some ports of call or have a change in itinerary. Just do not get upset if this has to happen. Out of my 22 cruises, I have only encountered one major storm and I have cruised many times during hurricane season. Not a big deal.
