Has anyone taken the Alaska RR Glacier Tour out of Whittier?

 

How far is the train station from where Princess docks? What do you do with your bags until 12:20 (time train leaves). What do you do in Whittier from disembarkation until train departure? Where does the shuttle bus from Portage take you in Anchorage?

The glacier cruises into Prince William Sound from Whittier are excellent. Good chances of seeing wildlife and you get close to several glaciers. Check with your cruise company regarding your luggage.

 

Whittier is very small so it's walking distance from the cruise ship dock to the train. Not much to do there (surprises many cruise passengers who expect more) for the casual visitor and weather can go from sunshine to rain even in the summer.
