Portable Ship Phones?

Recommended Posts

I will be on the Mariner in May with 3 friends. :) We have booked an owner's suite (middle of "the hump" - I CAN'T wait!). An internet site I found somewhere listed "use of portable ship phone" as one of the amenities. Does anyone know exactly what that is? Are they talking "walkie-talkies" or what?

The phones you're refering to are called "dect" phones and can be gotten at the guest relations desk. Cost - $25 per week and they only have a limited supply so get ther early. You can call the dect phone from any phone on the ship and cannot be used off the ship.

This is from information that I've read.
