KMK41 Posted February 7, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 7, 2006 We will be taking our first cruise in March and were thinking about snorkeling in Ocho Rios but have not read much about how good the snorkeling is there. Any input would be appreciated.
Middleager Posted February 8, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 8, 2006 We stayed at an Ocho Rios Beaches resort 3 years ago. It included diving/snorkeling. That's where I learned how to scuba and my wife tried snorkeling. Diving was so so. The weather in the Caribbeans is very good, but in Jamaica with overfishing and little protection for the environment, there is a lot of coral growth and not much fish to see. We still dived, and still saw something. If it's your first time to Ocho Rios, might consider a trip to the Dunn River Falls instead. Ocho Rios also has the usual tourist traps shopping centers, not much else. Can consider buying some rum and the famous Blue Mountain coffee. The coffee is good.
