Funcouple Posted February 9, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 9, 2006 Docked in Bahamas 9am to 6pm (March). We're not into the shopping, golfing, or Atlantis. What is there to do that is really unique?

madelinerose Posted February 15, 2006 #4 Share Posted February 15, 2006 Not unique, but we hopped in a taxi and spent the morning on Cable Beach (at the Radisson). No charge to use the beach. We were there from 10am-1pm and shared the beach with only 1 other couple. We hopped in a taxi to downtown Nassau when the beach became mobbed with other cruise passengers. more mangos please Posted February 16, 2006 #5 Share Posted February 16, 2006 Here are 2 unique (and 1 not so unique) things to do in Nassau. And by the way--good call on what you aren't doing. Conch Salad: dine on conch salad (made with the ocean mollusc, sweet and hot peppers, onion, lime and orange juice) in nearby Arawak Cay for lunch--it's where the cabbies and other locals eat. Stuart's Cove: Go to Stuart's Cove where they will sink you in a steel cage and let you feed the snarks--or you can just snorkel or dive the reef that Roger Moore's James Bond made famous. America's Cup: Sail an America's Cup Yacht (which you can now do in several ports of call) I'm undefeated when at the helm of New Zealand's boat. Go Kiwis! CaribbeanBound Posted February 16, 2006 #6 Share Posted February 16, 2006 Consider a day pass to Sandals. Here's our experience: http://www.lavasurfer.com/info/easterncaribbean.html
infoprof56 Posted February 18, 2006 #7 Share Posted February 18, 2006 Don't know if it is unique to seasoned cruisers but it was to us; we took a speed boat ride to Blackbeard's Cay and snorkled with Sting Rays. The boat ride was great and well you haven't lived until you have petted a sting ray :) .
