Let the "nickle-diming" begin??

So I called my TA to re-confirm interest in an upgrade/upsell - she called back to tell me I could be added to a wait-list for the minor sum of $100. Anyone have any experience with whether this is a worthwhile expenditure?

I've also inquired with my TA about this and she still has not gotten back to me so I'm pretty curious as well. Is that $100.00 refundable?

Something sounds wrong about that. There have been many discussions about upsells on this board, but I have never read about fees like that. Your travel agent is doing more than nickel and diming. If I were you, I'd find another one.

I called NCL and they confirmed the fee. My TA is a service provided by my insurance carrier - USAA ... they would never add such a charge. They did say that the $100 is refundable - but weren't very clear on the rules about that.

We just did a upsell on the Wind 1-28-06 sailing .Never were we asked for a 100 dollar depoit or anything else.We did book direct with NCL. TOM

I heard about this when I missed booking an AB on the Dawn last cruise but I didn't bite. I kept watching the website and when I saw an AB come up I called my TA.
