larie Posted February 14, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 14, 2006 I am confused with the time of Nativeway's Rays, Reef and Rum point excursion. Their website says they depart at 9 am eastern time. I have read some posts that say they departed with them at 10:30 am. I e-mailed Nativeway and they said they depart at 8:15 central time and return at 1:30 central time. My sailing is in May, 2006. What am I missing here...? My Carnival itinerary says we arrive at 7:30. Don't know what time zone Carnival is referring to. Does Grand Cayman follow Eastern time part year and Central time part year? I don't know why their website quotes Eastern time and their e-mail quoted central time. mnsawyer Posted February 14, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 14, 2006 It is my understanding that GC doesn't observe daylight saving time so in May, the ship will be an hour ahead of GC time if you sail from Florida. Before April, GC and eastern time are the same.
scsagh Posted February 14, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 14, 2006 I believe Nativeway has more than one boat. They can have more than one excursion doing the 'Rays, Reef, & Rum Point tour in a day. Based on different ships' arrival & departure times and reservations that they have, they set up what times their tour/tours will be leaving that day. Therefore you get lots of different info on what time the tour is. For example, for our tour with them on Thursday, Mar. 30, this is the info I received from Sharon at Nativeway: The tour departs the pier at 9:30 AM Eastern Time and completes around 2:45 PM Eastern Time. We ask that you check in no later than 9:15 AM Eastern Time. We are sailing on Carnival's Victory, and our itinerary says we will be in port from 7:30-4:30. When emailing Nativeway, just tell them what ship you are on and what it says for your times in port. Ask if they have a tour that will allow you enough time for the tour. They will tell you honestly.
