Fblack Posted February 14, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 14, 2006 I am looking at a Valparaiso to Buenos Aires cruise in December. I was told the flights home were all at 9:30PM or later. How do cruise ships handle this. Do we just wait 9 hours at the airport?
bryanwal Posted February 14, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 14, 2006 You have several options: You can go to the airport, check your luggage and either wait around or do an independant tour. You can book a city tour-type shore excursion from the cruise line where they will take you around and afterward deliver you and your luggage to the airport. You can book a driver to take you and your luggage around the city while you wait.
Phil7a Posted February 15, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 15, 2006 We were on a Millenium cruise from Florida to Valpariso - the distance is comparable to B.A. - and our flight from Satiago did not leave until a little after midnight. One could opt for a straight trip from the ship to Santiago with more than a 12-hour wait or take a longer tour trip via Celebrity that shows you the city, local area, lunch, etc. Pay the extra and enjoy and see the area and do not spend it sitting in an airport where you cannot even buy a pocketbook printed in English. ocngypz Posted February 15, 2006 #5 Share Posted February 15, 2006 For my 3rd SA sailing, I booked a day room. Been there, done that... so I went shopping.
