Funniest thing you have seen someone wear

The funniest thing I have ever seen is a rather chubby man with white hair and a white beard. He wore the same red bathing suit every day, and always with a pair of SUSPENDERS! Kinda reminded me of Santa Claus

Hmmm, and just how do you know that it WASN'T Santa Claus? ;) Afterall, he does deserve a nice vacation away from the cold North Pole occasionally. :)

Not the funniest, the most irritating - wearing baseball caps when sitting down eating - even in the dining room! I was brought up with the belief that gentlemen do not wear hats indoors.

I totally agree with you on this one!! Unfortunately there is a generation now who don't have the same manners as we were brought up with. There was a group of 30 year olds wearing big straw hats in the theater without a worry in the world that they were blocking others views. I think times have changed unfortunately.

My last cruise had a couple of them. #1 - Drunken woman wore her shirt on backwards. It was one of those small tops with the straps. One side had 2 triangles for where one's chest goes.. the other was straight across. She had it on reversed!!! LOL!! She had nothing up top but - come on!! Her drunken friend wore a short mini-type dress for formal night and tried to look sexy with her chest coming out of the top. Then, she walked up the staircase in it.. Now.. both these ladies were long-life Bar buddies. You know.. the skin shows the booze and cigarettes and both 55+. Runner up on the clothing category was Tatoo lady. 6 foot, bad bleached blonde, about 50, tatoo's everywhere, plastic surgery (not sure but my daughter thought so). Bright clothes from the 80's.

I was amazed to see a woman about 7 or 8 months pregnant in a teeny bikinni.....then to the other end of the spectrum was an older woman who dressed like Mae West every night with the big hat and feathers.

Cruise lines will not allow you on the ship at 7 or 8 months into your pregnancy for safety reasons.

With 5 cruises under my belt I can't even think to describe strange looking passengers. There is ALWAYS one on every cruise. I like it, it gives me someone to make fun of the entire cruise and keep myself amused.:)

I think it is a good thing that we notice at least ONE strange looking passenger on each cruise...

The day I DON'T see a strange looking passenger I will have to really worry, because that will mean that I must be the strange looking one ;)

you are correct, gentlemen do not were hats indoors. The fact of the matter is that many men are not gentlemen

On our Jewel '04 cruise there was this woman who always wore a hat with multi-colored feathers all over it. She sat with us one morning in the Windjammer and explained to us that it was so her SO could easily find her. Well, we later found out (we saw it with our own eyes!) that if he walked in and saw "the hat" he immediately took off in the other direction.

On formal night I went to the restroom near the Schooner Lounge and there was a small line and she was in front of me....sans hat. BUT she did have on this lace dress (knee length) that had about 40 or 50 crinoline petticoats underneath it and puffy little sleeves. Did I mention this woman was about 90????? It was like a little girl's fairy princess dream dress.....perhaps it had been hers as a child! Anyhoo, of course we saw her everywhere during the cruise.....who could miss the hat?

My was on the Soveriegn of Seas many years ago, this elderly couple to dinner every night in formal attire, her in her 60's prom dresses, and him in his tux with ruffled shirt and bow tie to match her dresss, they were so cute, they really enjoyed dressing up and we enjoyed waiting to see each night what they were going to wear. Wonder how many suitcases they brought????????

I think that the craziest thing that we have ever seen on a cruise is this guy who decided to wear his life jacket throughout the cruise. You never saw him without the vest on, formal night included, just picture that sight. Seems that he was afraid that the ship was going to sink and wanted to be prepared. Belle

This might happen on our cruise the fall!!! I'm bringing a bunch of my co-workers on a cruise, most of them first time cruisers. One is deathly afraid of water and has threatened to wear her vest the entire time. I'm thinking of buying her a snorkel vest. Still silly looking, but not quite as obnoxious as the fully padded life vest onboard! :)

On Carnival several men coming into the dining room still wearing their wives nightgowns from the afternoon's nightgown contest.

On the Sovereign a couple in matching cowboy & cowgirl outfits.

And the award goes to - also on the Sovereign a man dressed in a fairy costume complete with wings.

Can't even mention what I've seen at the Quest!

Hey Judy, I was on that Grandeur cruise with you and was just about to post about the leather/nipple ring guy. Weren't there some chains across his chest connecting the rings??

Speaking of dress codes!!! I wonder if he got into the dining room for dinner??? He was quite the sight!!

Hi Rala!! How have you been? That guy did get into the dining room that night, because they sat near us.

He was really a nice guy and so was his SO. We were on the bus to the airport with them the last morning. It was a comedy of errors that day. Nothing went right. We sat on that bus for close to an hour waiting for other people to show up, so we got to know them a little better.

Steve and I were on the Serenade last month and have no outrageous costumes to report from that cruise!

Well, Elvis was on our cruise on the Grandeur last July. He had the Elvis hair, sunglasses, etc. As soon as I saw him on the ship, I said to my husband, "Look there's Elvis." Well, for the next few days we saw him around the pool with his lady friend, etc. and people started calling him Elvis. Then, we were at one of the evening shows and the comedian asked him to come up to the stage and we started chanting Elvis, Elvis. Poor comedian, he even said that he was upstaged, but my husband insisted he was a plant along, but I disagree. Later that week, I talked to one of the passengers who had talked with "Elvis" and he said, the guy said he was on a cruise and always wore his hair that way, etc.

Elivs has now left the ship :-)

My best friend's husband always dresses like Elvis. He does shows/karoke for a living. He loves the attention he gets. Their teenagers don't think it's too great though.

On the Radiance this January, an Elvis Impersonator convention was booked on the ship with us. No lie! Everywhere you went, there was Elvis, sometimes in multiples. It was just so surreal!!!!!!

What fun!

Once, there was an elderly lady that appeared to be traveling alone. She dressed to the nines every evening. Fancy gowns, with lots of shine and sparkle. She caught our eye the first night as she was dancing in the lobby bar...alone. She also did this at the past guest party and captain's party. Anywhere there was music. Sometimes, the crew and others would dance with her, but she seemed happiest waltzing alone.

Another cruise was a woman, possibly late 20's early 30's. Hard to judge. Dressed like a street walker with shorts exposing cheeks and such. It was the 4 or 5 inch heels that caught your attention. Saw her on a shore excursion...also wearing the heels. She would get roaring drunk each night in the casino and bug the crap out of the dealers. Once she was wearing those fake bubba teeth and trying to flirt with every man she saw. No one seemed to think it was very funny!

The guy at the table next to us wore the same orange tank top to dinner every night (even formal night)...his luggage wasn't lost either.

A hideous sight...the guy was about 400 lbs and wore the tank with different pants every night...
