quilter49 Posted October 22, 2021 #1 Share Posted October 22, 2021 If the cruise ship is ending of stopping in Ravenna due to changes in Venice, are there any ferries to Venice? I looked up train travel and it is listed as a 3 hours in duration. Any info would be appreciated!
FamilyCruiserUK Posted October 22, 2021 #2 Share Posted October 22, 2021 Options are bus, ride share, private transfer or train. Am looking at a cruise in aug 22 from ravenna but will fly into Bologna. Only an hour to the port
Jplanetx Posted October 26, 2021 #3 Share Posted October 26, 2021 I would look at in google maps. Venice is only a small part of the massive Venetian lagoon and then all the way outside of that across land to the south is Ravenna it's definitely. Rail connection makes a ferry obsolete. But it is very far away. I have looked into the Venice Marco Polo airport coach transfer from RCCL ours was £40pp we are not using them for flights, We are not even flying in on the day of the cruise we are using the hotels airport shuttle boat to go back to the airport on embarkation day. Ravenna cruise port is not walking distance from the Train Station it is 20mins away in a car. looks like a taxi would be €25. I am hoping that there is a shuttle bus to the port but no one as been got back to me. I know there is bus that stops nearby(Porto Corsini) but don't fancy it with luggage. We are using the train on the way back you should be aware that you would need to get a airport bus from Venice it does not have a direct train route. I always see people saying they will plane into the nearest international Bologna. Travel time is is about 1hr 30mins by Taxi. Venice airport is 1hr more by google maps estimate on all other travel routes.
