AnnH Posted February 19, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 19, 2006 Hi! I was wondering if anyone could tell me how far the bus ride is from the pier to the Belize Zoo. One of my daughters has a tendency to get an upset stomach with longer bus rides, particularly on rough, windy roads and I'm wondering if this tour would be possible. Any other excursion suggestions (we will be on the Sun) that are close to the pier and would be suitable for preteens? Thanks for any advice! CruisinJul Posted February 23, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 23, 2006 I was also wondering how far the zoo is from the port. I would like to horseback ride in the morning and visit the zoo in the afternoon.
Darkkskyzz Posted February 23, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 23, 2006 And someone who has some idea of what the taxi ride there would cost would be nice too....
luvskittys Posted February 24, 2006 #4 Share Posted February 24, 2006 It is a 30 mile ride west of Belize City on Western Highway. However not knowing the road condition, bumpy potholes you know, it could be an hour ride. Also it is $8.00 US currency for admission.
CruisinJul Posted February 24, 2006 #5 Share Posted February 24, 2006 Thanks Luvskittys for the information. It sounds like it could be a long ride depending on the weather.
Mrs. Gump Posted February 27, 2006 #6 Share Posted February 27, 2006 Didn't go to the zoo but drove by it on our way to the zip line at jaguar paw resort. Our ride to the zipline took about an hour. Our guide pointed out the zoo about 20 min. into our ride back so I'm guessing it's about 40 min. from the pier. The road wasn't especially bumpy.
