pgmrdev Posted May 10, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 10, 2004 Not only did our 8A GTY become an assigned 8I, but found out today we also have received a $100pp shipboard credit! We booked on 3-25-2004 for a 6-8-2004 cruise and got a great price to begin with. Prices had dropped a little but not significantly. The company is Cruise Value Center and my TA there is Beth. They are the self-proclaimed "largest and cheapest online seller in the country" and "the #1 C/O seller of Carnival in NJ" (per Newark Star-Ledger ad). This is my first time booking with them and needless to say, I am very pleased.

Grand Princess 2-2001 Grand Princess 12-2001 Carnival Paradise 3-2002 Carnival Destiny 10-2002 Golden Princess 10-2003 Carnival Legend 6-8-2004

Cyt4SoreEyes Posted May 10, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 10, 2004 I checked out that company and I have to say their pricing online is not as good as others..can't get a price on any cabins for a cruise I was looking at going on. Have you experienced this before and had to just call them to get the prices?? I like to find the cabins still available and compare on my own with online pricing first before I have to make that call. pgmrdev Posted May 10, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted May 10, 2004 NEVER, EVER take any web prices as Gospel. Everything is negotiable. Take any agencies web price back to any other TA and also back to the 800 number of the same agency you got the price from and most will improve on that price. Case in point. I got a web price from BestCruises, then called BestCruises and got a better price. I then call CVC and got them to beat the BC best price.

Grand Princess 2-2001 Grand Princess 12-2001 Carnival Paradise 3-2002 Carnival Destiny 10-2002 Golden Princess 10-2003 Carnival Legend 6-8-2004

Cotton Posted May 11, 2004 #5 Share Posted May 11, 2004 pg ~ SO true. Website prices are never "as good as it gets"! For instance, I've often told folks who look at Carnival's website: Talk to a Carnival PVP, as they always offer a better deal than what is published on the website. This is obviously true with any agency. And - good for you! Shipboard credits are always SO nice to have.
