Port of Miami PAX drop off question

I am part of a party of 10.  Is is possible to drive to the port and drop off the bulk of our party and they can wait while we turn in our rental cars and take an Uber or taxi back to the port to join them? Trying to save a few $$$ as our hotel charges $12/person for shuttle to port and with the spacing of boarding times for Covid it might not be convenient to take the hotel shuttle. If I hire a shuttle it is a little bit more per person.

Yes, they can drop off the bags and wait to enter security.

Yes, you can. Please note, however, your party may be waiting some time (40 minutes to over an hour) depending upon what rental location you are using and how quickly the rental car agency can process your return.

 

There is not a lot of seating in the terminal.
