Dining Room Breakdown

No, I'm not really having a breakdown! icon_wink.gif

Someone on this board broke the dining times down into cabin locations. I can't find the information through search.

I know you can request early 5:45 6:15 or late 8:00 8:30.

Once you have your cabin number can you see if your 5:45 or 6:15?

Thanks for the help. I'm printing up a manifest for our Victory May 23rd group.

Your dining room time and table reservation will be printed on your S&S card. You will not know for certain which DR or seating you were assigned to until you pick up the S&S at check-in.

Perhaps something else as well. Watch this space.

Some TA give you a precise time choice preference between the four seating times rather than breaking it down to just two. Most usually one supposedly will get the precise time they request, at least that has been my case so far.

When you book your cruise your only choices are either Early or Late Seating.

When on a ship with one dining room then as stated above, your S & S Card will tell you your table number and if you're on the lower level or the upper level and the dining time.

Also if you're on a ship with two dining rooms, your S & S Card will tell you which one, diing time and table number

When you book online at carnival.com, you get to choose between the four seatings: Main Seating, Main 2nd Seating, Late Seating or Late 2nd Seating. I'm on the Elation, 5/23/04 and I already know I'm booked for the Main 2nd Seating (6:15 pm)

TOm: how do you know that you are booked for that seating. when you REQUEST a time foor dining that is what it is a request only. (if you get onboard and dnot like your seating please see the Matre D arequest a seat change.

Last cruise there were a lot of unhappy campers as the early seating was closed and no one can get it...

Tom: I pointed that out only because a lot of new people read the boards from time to time and dont want them to get the wrong information.

I wonder if there is way around that "reguest" I know some people dont get what they requested.. how do cruislines determine who gets what they want?

I don't know why or how they go about assigning dining times. Ones of the "great mysteries" of cruising? icon_biggrin.gif

When I recently booked a new cruise, the same PVP I've been using asked if I wanted early or late seating. I told her early, and she THEN asked if I wnated 5:45 or 6:15. I was surprised. She said they're "trying something different".....

Hopefully, I WILL get 6:15, but if not, I'll just go to the Maitre d' after boarding and try to get it changed.

I was told your seating in the dining rooms is by the times allotted not by cabins location on the ship and that was per Carnival Rep. Now if you request the 545pm you can ask folks who have just recently come off the ship you will be sailing on and ask them which dining room they were in at that 545 pm seating as well as the other seatings 600 800 and 815 pm. I found out that on the Glory the 545 seating will be in the rear of the ship along with the 8pm and then the two late seatings 6pm and 815pm are held in the middle dining room. I hope this is what you were trying to figure out..if not just excuse my ramblins..lol!!!!
