Crowds in venues

We have never cruised on MSC,and were considering a Caribbean cruise on the Divina, either late this year,or early next year.

Our question concerns venue crowds on a ship, with this large capacity. We are seniors, with arthritis, that at times walk with canes.

We have been on Norwegian ships of a similar size, and on those, for certain venues, unless you got there more than an hour in advance, you had to stand for over an hour, which is problematic for us.

Also,in the main theaters, you had to make reservations, and hopefully get the show at the time you wanted.

Will that situation be similar on the Divina,or is it better.

I knew the crowds are smaller, since cruises came back, but who knows8 to 12 months from now?

Thank you in advance

Been on the Divina 11 times. Never had an issue with standing room only or overcrowding in general. If you happen to like old school jazz, there is a group on the Divina at the end of October that are mostly seniors. Think you can find their website by searching for jazzfest at sea.

You are in for a treat should you book in the Yacht Club. You will have the exclusive use of a host of butlers that will escort you everywhere on the ship. Then it doesn’t matter how crowded the ship becomes. We could never get a front row seat because we were not fast enough. So we had our primary butler escort us to the theater and told him that the reserved seats in the back were too far for us to see could he get us two seats in the front. He went in ahead of us, ahead of everyone, and stood by our seats until we made our way.

Thank you,

Although we are more 50s,60s,70s in music.

The jazz I like is more dixieland style

We probably would just be doing normal balcony.

We dont need front row seats.

Its just on the mega ships on other lines, couldn't get ANY seats

We all don't need to cruise either.

Substitute the words in my post "front row" for "ANY seats" and one has the answer. The YC has reserved seating at any theatre performance Those in the Yacht Club do not have to make any reservations.

The difference between MSC mega ships and other mega ships is that MSC caters to their Yacht Club guests more so than the other lines cater to their suite guests. On RCCL one must book in their "Star Class" to get reserved seats in their entertainment venues at much higher price than a regular YC cabin. Celebrity does this for their suite class, but only on Chic/gala nights. MSC does it for every venue through their butlers.

We switched from sailing on RCCL because we were closed out of a comedy club venue and had to wait for a table (seat) in the suite dedicated restaurant Coastal Kitchen because too many NON-suite Pinnacle passengers were allowed to dine there as well. So we know exactly what 'seating' means to you.
