wasup254 Posted February 24, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 24, 2006 We purchased a ring on board Millie in November and the stone(Ta****te) fall out as we got home, the very first day off the ship, go figure. We sent the ring back and asked for a full refund, it is still not credited back to our card. Is this too long to wait for a refund? Has anyone had similiar issues? we tried to dispute the charges and the card we used wanted u sto call Starboard and see what could be worked out. I said I want the 600 dollars credited. usha Posted February 24, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 24, 2006 This isn't an uncommon thing; prongs get snagged, stones get loose and can fall out. If you still have the tanzanite, you can go to a local jeweler and have the stone reset.

wasup254 Posted February 24, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted February 24, 2006 Tanzanite was lost....waiting for them to refund us and it has been a long time. We wrote a letter to them and said we wanted a refund no repair...I had the ring one day off of the ship! Marlene
bububr Posted February 24, 2006 #5 Share Posted February 24, 2006 never good to wear nice jewelry especially with prongs during debarkation. Also tanzanite is a soft stone, and one good whack ant it can break or fall out of its setting. Sorry to hear about your misfortune. I have a great jeweler. A few cruises ago I bought a few diamonds at DI to have set into a ring I always wanted....a sliding channel set ( the stones slide back and forth as you move your hand ). He valued the stones at much more than I paid, and made the ring. Last year after loosing weight I had the ring resized, unfortunately the channel opened slightly, and the first night at the casino I pulled the handle of a slot and the stones went flying....I never found them. Returning home, I told my jeweler, and he replaced them at no charge with stones of an even higher quality. A good jeweler stands behind their product. Call and ask for an update on your situation. Would you agree to the same ring if it was replaced? Sometimes when someone wants a full refund and is demanding it looks like buyers remorse. Have they offered you any compensation, to reset the stone....etc? Dave:eek:
hajekfam Posted February 24, 2006 #6 Share Posted February 24, 2006 Marlene - what an awful thing to happen. This really wasn't a good end of the year for you what with the hurricane, the problems with the trans, and the quality of the two day cruise following and now this. Hope things are looking up for you! Karen
