MaryLS Posted April 2, 2022 #1 Share Posted April 2, 2022 I've been booking cruises for many years through Casinos at Sea and have gotten decent prices. I just took a CAS cruise in early March and was pleased with the pricing. During the cruise I got 5500 points which is more than I've gotten in the past. Today, I called to book a cruise in March 2023 on the Gem and was shocked at the price I was given! It was barely 20% off of the online price. I usually receive at a minimum a free inside cabin but sometimes receive a comped oceanview on the older ships. I was told they average your play over the past 3 years. I explained we couldn't cruise for 2 years due to COVID. No explanation given. In addition, I was looking to book a second cabin which is usually 20% off. I was told it would only be 10% off. Anyone call CAS and book anything within the last 2 months??? What was your experience?
negn Posted April 2, 2022 #2 Share Posted April 2, 2022 Have found CAS to be less generous the past couple of years. And the additional “ daily administration fee “ just adds to it. We now only qualify for an inside and pay to upgrade to balcony. Have what will probably be our last NCL cruise for Sept. only reason we booked is we received a$500 gift card. Now use Princess which gives truly free cruises ( port charges and taxes only) Last couple include drink packages and tips also and generous free play
ryanpatricksmom Posted April 2, 2022 #3 Share Posted April 2, 2022 Same here. We used to get Haven cabins, spa cabins, etc. and only paid the admin fee, port fees, and taxes. Before our last sailing they had already given us a balcony cabin on the Prima for $314 pp based on our 2019 play. We sailed on the Joy last month, each of us accumulated a bunch of points (can't remember the final number), and when I called to see about making the Prima cruise a B2B, the price pp was $1000. We are using up Cruise Next certificates so we booked anyway, but the days of NCL having the most generous CAS program seem to be in the past.
