Cruising89143 Posted May 15, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 15, 2004 Sailed twice last year on the Fantasy. Arrived around 10:30. Handed luggage off to the porters and parked the car. Carnival was already doing the check-in when we entered the terminal around 10:45. They started boarding around 11:30. Disneycruiser#1 Posted May 15, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted May 15, 2004 Thanks Gordon, so what are your thoughts about the Fantasy? I would assume since you sailed two times it was a good experience. We booked this last minute for my toddlers birthday. He turns 3 on May 26, 2004 and I was unlucky to have a rare aneurysm while I was 36 pregnant with him. Luckily we were the 14th woman and baby to have survived so May 26 is a day of mixed emotions. Since he is little and clueless I thought what better way to take our minds off the negative of me dying and being brought back and taking our boys somewhere to celebrate them and life We have taken them on the Wonder and Magic and they like sailing. We also got a great deal with last minute booking and active military discount (hubby is a Marine) so this is a great quick getaway for us. Thanks for taking the time to answer and help. I went on my annual "Mommies getaway" on the 5/1/04 Sensation to GC and Cozumel and I think Carnival is going much better with the all around cruising experience. Compared to the Inspira in Augusttion 7 night we did last July or even the RCI Sovereign and the Magic over Halloween that CCL is getting better and better. Thanks for your help. We will get there around the time you suggested. I do not want to deal with the Radisson shuttle this time so I think we will leave Saturday morning and then drive to the other side of Jacksonville FL spend the night and drive on in directly to the port Sunday morning. Thanks again!
Cruising89143 Posted May 17, 2004 #5 Share Posted May 17, 2004 I really like the Fantasy. She looks even better since Carnival refurbished her. She has a much more toned down interior. I found the crew and service to better than most other ships that I have cruised. To me she is great for those quick get-a-ways. I am going to be cruising again on the Fantasy over the Labor Day weekend. By the way, I have some photos in the link below that I took while on the Fantasy last November just after she came out of her refurb. Have a great cruise.
