shadowycruiser Posted June 15, 2022 #1 Share Posted June 15, 2022 Does anyone have insight into what's happening with Silver Shadow? Is it on the way back to Vancouver? TA advises there are electrical issues and the June 16 sailing has been pushed back to June 17. No guidance on what we'll do in Vancouver tomorrow or where we'll stay tomorrow night. jollyjones Posted June 16, 2022 #2 Share Posted June 16, 2022 According to MarineTraffic, she's just off Vancouver Island heading for Vancouver at 16.6 knots so no obvious issue with propulsion.
c-legs Posted June 16, 2022 #3 Share Posted June 16, 2022 The strange thing about her is , on Marine Traffic, she had been '' out of range'' since 06-13 / 0601UT, until today.... !!! and I don't think she ever made Ketchikan on 14June. Her arrival in Vancouver is now expected at 6;00Pm thursday 16th.... 13 hours late.... and of course, will not make her original departure of 6;00pm to go back up to Alaska. Also :: ???? She's sailing south the long way around Vancouver Island, instead of the usual and preffered routing thru the BC inside passage..... Quite strange indeed..... FauxNom Posted June 16, 2022 #4 Share Posted June 16, 2022 On Facebook, passengers reported this 1 day ago: We lost power (lights out/no flush) for a few moments at 11:00 last night and then the engines came to an abrupt halt at around 2AM. Power was lost and we were adrift for about 25 minutes we estimate. Engines were in and out throughout the rest of the early morning and then we got the announcements of the port cancellation this morning. My dad said they put a tender and a zodiac down and were examining the outside of the ship (probably standard operating procedure). We are bobbing at the moment. They fixed the problem but had to wait for Canadian Coast Guard clearance. They missed the port call in Ketchikan and will disembark a day late in Vancouver.
